Summary

Rachel Ricketts is our guest of the show today. Rachel is a thought leader + outspoken champion for Black and Indigenous womxn + and our healing. As a racial justice educator, spiritual activist, changemaker and author, she educated white folx on their role in perpetuating white supremacy, helps folx of color heal from internalized oppression and helps everyone end global oppression in all forms. Rachel hosts online and in-person workshops including her renowned Spiritual Activism series which promotes racial justice and offers practical solutions for all hue-mxns to dismantle racist cisheteropatriarchy.

Rachel’s work has been featured in the New York Times, Huffington Post, Hello Giggles, BuzzFeed, Mindbodygreen, 21Ninety, Black Girl in Om and Thrive, and she’s presented at international conferences including SXSW and me Convention in Stockholm. She loves donuts, dancing and all things metaphysical.

The Balanced Blonde listeners are super interested in spirituality as well as being better people, learning, and doing the shadow work. Coming off of the tragic deaths in the Black community and the renewed momentum of Black Lives Matter protests, Rachel’s work is incredibly eye-opening and more important than ever before.

She is a great teacher, she is spiritually aligned, she’s in her passion, and she is truly living a soul on fire life! She talks all about boundaries, energy, self-care, growing her team, astrology, and so much more. This is such a difficult time, but it is also an opportunity for change and making ourselves better.

Thank you HUM Nutrition for sponsoring the show! They’re Jordan’s favorite beauty supplement company. She takes the Mighty Night supplement every night to help her sleep. They are all-natural, organic, and non-GMO. If you’re unsure of where to begin, you can take a quiz to get paired with the supplements that are best for you. You can use the code SOUL for 20% of all their products at humnutrition.com.

Jordan is a huge fan of CBD, and Cured Nutrition is her #1 favorite brand. One thing that’s very impressive is their response to the Black Lives Matter movement. They have partnered with the Last Prisoner Project. There are currently over 40 thousand prisoners incarcerated for cannabis-related offenses despite legalization, and communities of color are disproportionately affected. You can use the code BLONDE for a discount at curednutrition.com.

0:23.6

excited and honored to be joined today by my guest Rachel Ricketts. You may know her as a

0:30.2

racial justice educator, a healer, a speaker, an author, a death doula, which is fascinating and we

0:38.2

get into that in the episode. Spiritual activist and beyond. Rachel's platforms on Instagram and social

0:46.6

media have skyrocketed just in the last couple weeks alone, which is something that we talk about in

0:51.6

the episode as well because it's always awesome to grow, but also coming off of what's going on in

0:59.5

our world right now with Black Lives Matter and this movement and the tragic deaths of many people

in the Black community. It's an interesting kind of catch 22 and we talk about that in the episode

1:13.7

as well. And I just have to shout out so many listeners of the Balanced Fond for recommending that I

1:21.4

look into Rachel's work because you guys know me really well. The second that I looked her up and

1:28.6

started doing her courses, I've done her spiritual activism 101 and 102. I instantly felt a

1:35.4

connection to her. She's such a good teacher. She's so spiritually aligned. She's in her passion,

1:43.0

in her truth, in her spiritual fullness. And like I told her in this conversation, she's truly

1:49.8

living her soul on fire life by combining so many of her passions and so much of her education

1:57.4

from being a lawyer to studying racial justice in school and so much more. And now she, as of today,

2:07.4

when we recorded this episode, she had 201,000 followers on Instagram. Those of you who follow me know

2:15.0

201 is the number, the number of my angels, my guides, listen to the numerology episode if you want

2:21.9

to hear more. And I'm sure by the time this episode comes out, Rachel's platform will only be bigger

2:28.8

because she is growing and teaching and educating and her message is so important and needs to be

2:36.8

heard and amplified in as many places as possible. So I know the balance blonde listeners are super
