Summary

Jasmine Leyva is a director, actor, and filmmaker responsible for the documentary “The Invisible Vegan,” which explores the problem of unhealthy dietary patterns in the African-American community. She talks about the opportunities of health and wellness enabled by a plant-based life in those communities. All of the prevalent documentaries in the plant-based community are made by white people — mostly men — and while all of these are important for the cause, Jasmine wanted to come at it from a different, important angle that hadn’t been explored before. She is so kind and has a loving spirit + she shares openly some of her life experiences, both beautiful + painful.
