SEC Commissioner and the most influential man in college football right now, Greg Sankey,

said that the southeastern conference is leaning towards scratching the division model

of having teams split into the East and the West once Texas and Oklahoma join the League

in a couple seasons, or maybe next year, who knows.

And we've seen conferences like the Pack 12 and others do this, Big 12 doesn't have divisions

anymore as well, and it is exactly the right move.

In my opinion, the whole point of scheduling in a conference is to have each team play

each other home and away during the course of a college career.

And this is one step closer to achieving that.

Also the geography of how the SEC is split divisions makes absolutely no sense.

You don't have to be Christopher Columbus or Magellan to figure out that Auburn and Alabama

don't need to be in the West are that Missouri and Texas A&M don't need to be in the East.

It also seems like the 14 pod model is also dead, which I'm exactly very excited about.

rivalries intact, which is still very possible, and how the SEC Championship game will be set
