He has an amazing gift for narrative for depicting people as they are for cutting to the core

of issues, usually extraordinarily well researched.

I can't say enough about his work.

Tana Hasekot came to speak at the University of Chicago about his new book this week, and

I took the opportunity to sit down with him and talk about his journey.

And where America is today, post Obama in the era of Trump.

Have you heard of the University of Chicago?

You've written a lot about the guy that I worked for Barack Obama.

And I remember the day that Obama got a call in 2004 when he was asked to give that speech

at the Democratic Convention in Boston that made him a prominent national figure over

night.

And when he hung up the phone after getting the offer, he said, I know what I want to

write.

And I said, what do you want to write?
