Hi, everybody. Tom Woods here. Well, we had Anthony Samarov week last week,

and I think people enjoyed that. But you may have wondered with all the news going on,

all the events taking place in Washington. Why I didn't have an episode commenting on all that.

Well, the answer is I was on vacation last week. I picked quite a week to be on vacation.

I was in the US Virgin Islands, particularly on the island of St. John,

which has a population below 5,000. And that was just what the doctor ordered. What a wonderful place.

I just can't say enough about it. I had thought about going there. And then our friend Tom D. Lorenzo

said it's one of his favorite places in the world. So I was sold and what a wonderful time.

So I had already recorded Anthony Samarov week before leaving. And now I'm back and we can talk

about what's going on in the world. So we're going to start doing that this week. I have a few

episodes coming up later in the week where I want to get into some of the details. We're going to

have Michael Rectonwald back on the program. I've got my old friend Chris Farara. We're going to be

talking about generally the state of the world, but in particular the ongoing craziness of the

COVID regime. And then I want to get somebody on to talk about the Trump legacy and what all this

means, what January 6th means with regard to that. So we are going to get to all that stuff this

week. What we're doing today is reproducing an episode I appeared on of the Human Action podcast

hosted by Jeff Dice of the Mises Institute. And here we are talking about the importance

of reading books. And I don't want to hear, oh, woods, this is a tumultuous time. We can't be

reading books. We have to do extra why. Yeah, that just sounds like a lot of excuse making
