years of Christianity, and now we look at the early history of the relations between China and Russia, the Middle

Kingdom's great and culturally rich neighbor to the north.

Even though they're next-door neighbors, These two peoples, the Russians and the Chinese.

They didn't bump into each other until late in the Ming Dynasty. Yeah, it took that long.

Distance, one of ancient mankind's oldest enemies, had always kept these two nations apart.

Moscow to Beijing was a lot further of a walk than taking any of the silk roads, so it's not surprising that it wasn't until the late 16th century that China and Russia only first met.

And it was more like high-bye than a real getting to know you meeting.
