Hello and welcome to episode 180 of the Thinking Elsap podcast in Los Angeles. I'm Nathan Fox with me in Vienna, Virginia.

0:14.6

Is Ben Olson. Ben did you ever think we'd make it to 180 episodes?

0:19.7

I don't think that I did that at one point. I certainly thought that this would be over with a

0:26.5

clover. But what did you say? It's just something I say all the time because it rhymes but no one ever says it.

0:35.5

It's just a like a family thing I guess. Yeah but over with a clover.

0:42.8

Yeah, so does this mean that we're done?

0:45.0

I mean, we hit 180.

0:46.0

Yeah, once you get to 180, you really should be basically done.

0:50.0

But, uh, we're the type of people who well. Yeah get high one 70s and then keep doing it for the rest of your life

1:00.4

Yeah, so this kind of reminds me, have you gotten emails like throughout your time in this field of people talking about getting scores higher than 180?

1:10.0

No.

1:13.0

Okay, I feel like I have on more than one occasion.

1:17.0

Like, you know, someone like, oh, I'm definitely trying to get 190 or something like it's like hmm okay we

1:27.1

That's funny like if you say that you want a 180

1:30.5

at least you know the score range but even then it's kind of like mmm do you realize

1:35.8

the challenge that you're up against right now if they come back and say I've been

1:38.6

scoring in the 170s then then I say yeah why not we'll shoot for 180 but people starting out it's hilarious when people are like I will not give up until I get a 180

1:50.5

I'm like well good luck with that because some people you know you could spend the rest of your life and

1:57.5

potentially not get to 180 it's yeah there's there are limits like cognitively there are limits but yeah, so I always just say to people well where are you now?

2:10.9

And then I when they say 150 I go, okay, well, let's talk about getting you to 155.

2:17.0

Yeah.

2:18.0

And then we can talk about 160.
