Summary

Hi friends! Today I want to share a little about Kintsugi—the ancient Japanese art of golden repair—and how it can transform our pain into something meaningful. In my docu-series, Kintsugi, we dive into this philosophy as I travel through Japan, tracing the footsteps of my grandfather and discovering how brokenness, much like the cracks in pottery, can be healed and made even more beautiful. It’s about embracing your past, finding strength in what you’ve been through, and letting the light of love and hope guide you forward. In a world that feels heavy, Kintsugi reminds us that we can turn our struggles into superpowers. If you’re ready for a deep dive into this philosophy, check out the Kintsugi docu-series on YouTube, and don't forget to subscribe to our podcast for more reflections on finding peace, healing, and beauty in our lives. Please join me every Friday in February for a new episode—link in the description! I have actually never seen growth like this before.

0:25.2

Of course, it's organic and not paid for. I had the opportunity to create an amazing documentary

0:35.5

based off of my last book, Kinski Wellness, with NHK World. I went and

pitched and presented in Tokyo on my own. And then I later proceeded to fund out of my savings

podcast around 2020, 2021 with an HK World. And recently, I decided to put it on YouTube

1:08.6

because I thought, why not make it available to anyone at any time

1:12.6

and also hear from all of you your feedback, which I had never actually received before.

1:19.5

To my surprise, pleasantly, I was overwhelmed with how many of you have written

1:25.7

to connect with the practices of Kinsugi themselves,

1:30.0

or many of you are mixed, Chinese, Japanese, Brazilian, Hawaiian, black, Latino, Asian,

1:37.5

all kinds from all backgrounds. And it is so nice to hear from all of you from all over the world.

1:45.2

Canadians, Europeans, mixed with Asians, mixed with blacks, mixed with Latinos,

Middle Easterns.

1:52.5

I mean, I grew up with a friend who was Turkish and Japanese.

We often don't really have a place in this world because we're taught that we just don't fit in.

2:02.6

So, you know, the funny thing is, of course I got Haterville comments too, which is so funny.

2:09.4

And I'll just read them aloud to you as I remember them.

2:12.3

One of them, you know, wrote about, why would this director-producer,

a documentary, and write about themselves, would
