I think about this often, because I think there's the tendency and Christianity, especially

with those in leadership, but I think all of Christianity that our kids can easily become

a trophy to our sanctification, where it's like, well, look at my kid.

They're so well read.

They've got the Bible versus they've got, you know, the Westminster Catechism, first five

memorized.

They're serving their blah blah and there's this feeling of, look, here's a physical

representation of my sanctification process.

But the reality is that we were talking about pride two episodes ago.

It's so easy to forget about grace.

Because if you do all of the truisms, truism is something that, you know, an apple

of day keeps the doctor away.

Is it guaranteed?

No, it's a truism.

The intent is for you to live a healthy life in the way that you eat.

The scriptures give us truisms for the way we parent, but they are not guarantees.

And often I think we look at our children as we forget about grace and that if they

grew up and they, you know, all 10 or all three or all four are saved, then we're like,

ah, look, I should write a book on parenting.

You know, I, here's a, here's the trophy to my sanctification.

And then when we hear about other people's kids who are not in the faith, we're like,

hmm, you know, did they, what, where, how did they school their children?
