Summary

As I head back to my home state of Oklahoma this week to promote The Life Council, I'm feeling nostalgic in every way. Even as life has marched forward, and I entered my twenties, then my thirties, and now my forties, I have found it useful to tap back into the childhood version of me. It reminds me who I am in my core and it reminds me where I came from. And sometimes, even as I evolve in a positive way, I need that reminder of where I started. I want to tap into that original spirit. This episode has four questions to ask yourself about your childhood self. We're going to talk about: Place People Our bodies Our dreams Maybe you think about your childhood self all the time. Maybe it's been a long time since you really remembered that version of you. This episode and these questions will bring you back to who you were when you were young. Things to Tell You. This is a show about digging deeper and sharing our

stuff. I'll go first. How old are you in your mind? Or rather what age were you that you felt like was

0:52.3

truly your core self. You are most you. You know how they say

1:00.3

that there's an age that some of us get stuck.

1:05.0

You know, maybe it's age four, age 10, age 16, 21,

1:11.0

feels like it's always young, ages like that.

1:15.0

And whether we're stuck there because of some kind of trauma

1:20.0

and our development halted at that age or definitely you know there was a fork in the road that forced a lot of change upon us and so we get stuck in that space. Maybe that was the age where we peaked that we feel like was really the

1:38.1

pinnacle of our life or who we are. Maybe it's just that was the age that you felt was the truest

1:47.1

you for whatever reason, the purest version of you maybe before all the things that happened after that changed a lot of stuff and if you

1:56.5

could go back to that age you would. I think there's a lot of different ways that we can think about what age we are in our mind and in our spirit, whether for hard reasons or maybe for just beautiful reasons like that's when we felt like we were our best.

2:16.3

You know I don't know that I have personally a set answer for this because I can definitely feel like I had a real moment around age 10, and then again at age 16,

2:31.2

and then for sure, when I was 22. But that young adult version, that 22 year old version of myself, I feel like that's maybe when I really grew up, I really showed my strength. I don't know that it's what we're talking

2:46.1

about here as like, what is the age I am inside of me in my heart.
