26-year-old Chase Massener had deployed overseas during the Iraq War and won multiple medals

for his service before he was honorably discharged. He was reportedly struggling to find happiness

after he returned to civilian life in Metro, Atlanta. He was convinced his marriage was

falling apart. Some who knew Chase said he lived with PTSD and struggled with addiction.

And then one day he abruptly disappeared in 2014 after getting into an argument with his wife.

The 185 pages long Cobb County Police Investigative Report on the case is full of bad tips, conspiracy

theories on social media and missed opportunities. The Chase Massener case would eventually go

cold, leading everyone following along to wonder would there ever be answers for his family,

In the days before his disappearance, in March 2014, Chase had been staying with his mom.

He was having problems with his wife, Amanda Massener. The couple, who were the parents

of two young daughters, reportedly needed some space from each other. Investigators interviewed

Amanda shortly after his disappearance. She said the last time she had seen Chase was

on March 26, 2014. Amanda told investigators she had picked Chase up from his mother's

house so he could spend some time with their children. They had gotten into an argument,

and Chase said he was going to stay with his friend, Brad. He also made a comment about

wanting to go live in the woods. She dropped him off at the Quick Trip Convenience Store,

where Chase worked as the nighttime assistant manager. Then, Amanda said she never saw

her husband again.

In her interview, she said Chase, who had been deployed overseas in Iraq and returned
