Welcome back for another episode of Reality Life with Kate Casey, and I have such a great episode

for you today. So first, I want you to picture this. A sport where the court is smaller than a

tennis court, and the paddles look like they belong in a child's beach bag. Now the balls have holes in it, and somehow,

this has become the fastest growing sport in America, complete with seven-figure contracts,

televised drama, and believe it or not, enough on-court romance to make a reality TV producer

weep. This is pickleball, and more specifically, welcome to the PPA,

the professional pickleball association. A league that in less than five years has gone from,

what is that weird paddle thing that you're on place, the YMCA, to this globe trotting

multimillion dollar phenomenon. Now, full disclosure, before we get any

further, I have to tell you, I am in my own deeply unverified estimation a pickleball champion.

I believe I could have been a prodigy. I am genuinely convinced that if I had been able to dedicate

myself fully to the sport,

instead of, I don't know, having a job and taking care of children,

that I would currently be holding the pickleball world championship title.

And I have a neighbor who also believes that they are a world champion player.

In fact, several of the moms at my daughter's elementary school

are probably

currently daydreaming about abandoning their families to go on tour. And I suspect you know people

that also are under the same delusion that I am, that they could be pickleball champions.

And that's what makes the sport so much fun. And that's why I need to tell you about partners.
