In Part 1, you may recall, we went all the way up to

1943 after Needham finished the first of several expeditions

around the Middle Kingdom to explore China science

and the history behind all these inventions and technologies.

And also was head of the Sino-British Scientific Cooperation Office, the Jiang Chia Dachia,

The first trip was the most perilous and ambitious,

It was a very inspirational moment and after taking it all in he then went on to cover as much of the rest of China as he could.
