Usually, when Oklahoma and Texas do get out in the Red River shootout, there are national

implications on the line.

However, this Saturday, both teams come into this game unranked for the first time since

1998 and the Big 12's most important matchup is taking place in Lawrence, Kansas, where

the undefeated J-Hawks host number 17 TCU.

Yes, that is actually really happening.

You aren't dreaming and you're not in a coma or a sleep.

Now, even though neither team is ranked, this is a fantastic rivalry in either fan base

with gladly take home the bragging rights this year.

Now, we're going to break this game down from every aspect a little bit later and tomorrow.

That isn't what I'm here to talk about right now.

Today, I want to forewarn Texas and Oklahoma fans about what they will face when they join

the college football superpower that is the SEC.

Now, both of these teams have bright futures regardless of what the knee-jerk reactionists

or Monday morning shock jocks want to tell you, but don't expect immediate success right

when you enter the conference.

The common misconception out there is that the SEC is top heavy and it's really only about

getting past BAM and Georgia if it were only that easy.
