Do you ever think it would be much easier just to give up on your hopes and dreams because they seem too far-fetched? Maybe you feel it was foolish to think that God would use you in a powerful way or to believe he would make a way where you can’t see one? We’ve likely all had thoughts like this at some point. And these thoughts can help us see what’s really going on: we’re relying on ourselves to make things happen in our lives instead of trusting in God. We can get so preoccupied by looking for our own answers and our own solutions, that we no longer expect them from God. Those are the times to remember that even when we can’t see a way forward that makes sense to us, God does. Because God has always been in the business of using unlikely people and unlikely things at the most unlikely times to provide for His children. He’s amazing that way. Don’t ever lose hope. It may look like that breakthrough, the great promotion, a good medical report, or a healed relationship will ever come to pass—but that’s when you can expect God to show up!
