Stephen Kinzer is an author and award-winning foreign correspondent. He served for more than 20 years as the New York Times as bureau chief in Turkey, Germany, and Nicaragua, and as the Boston

Globe's Latin America correspondent. Since leaving the Times, he's taught journalism, political

science, and international relations at Northwestern University and Boston University,

and he is a senior fellow at the Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs at Brown
