Summary
I don't know about you, but dealing with injury and being sidelined while I watch all my friends go play bikes is not my idea of a good time. As I've started to get a little older I'm starting to notice that injuries are happening with greater frequency and staying longer than I'm used to. The real motivation for me is to have a healthy body and prevent injuries when possible and deal with them appropriately when they do occur.
Enter Maria Osowski, PT, DPT, who is a licensed Physical Therapist and lifelong Athlete. She has been on the podcast before on Ep. 133 ~ Red Granite Grinder Recap when she won the 144 mile version of that race. This time she's back to help keep us injury free so we can enjoy the sport we love and the bodies that move us!

| 0:04.8 | and I'm your host. And on today's episode, we are talking all things physical therapy with a real-life |
| 0:12.1 | physical therapist. My guest today is Maria Osowski, who I met in Wausau, Wisconsin when I went up there for the Red Granite Grindr. |
| 0:22.9 | She's actually been on the podcast before, episode 131, whenever we did a recap of that race. |
| 0:29.5 | She was the winner of the 144-mile version of the Red Granite Grindr. |
| 0:36.2 | And during that episode, I found out she was a physical |
| 0:38.6 | therapist and my podcasting senses started to tingle. And many months later, Maria joins us again, |
| 0:47.0 | this time talking about how to keep yourself out of the physical therapist office. Maria is a |
| 0:54.0 | lifelong athlete. |
| 0:55.8 | She has done many different disciplines of athletics, |
| 0:59.9 | and I thought she would be the perfect guest to really work us through many things, |
| 1:05.7 | how to prevent injury, how to have a endurance body, |
| 1:15.2 | how to maintain a level of overall fitness, |
| 1:24.2 | and what to do if you do get injured or how to even prevent injury on endurance efforts, long backpacking trips, whatever it may be. |
| 1:33.2 | And we talk about when you should consider seeing a physical therapist. |
| 1:39.5 | So I don't know about you, but for me, being injured is one of the most difficult things to deal with. |
| 1:46.1 | There's nothing that I want more than to be active, to be outdoors, and to be using my body. And when things hurt, it's less fun. And so I personally found this episode to be very informative and helpful. |
| 1:53.6 | We actually recorded this one a little over a month ago. I've already started to put into practice |
| 1:59.1 | a lot of the things that we talked about in today's |
| 2:01.5 | episode, and I can vouch for their efficacy. |
| 2:05.4 | I've already noticed improvements, and maybe I'll tell you a little bit more about that |
| 2:10.4 | after the show. |
