And I'm so thrilled because Brian Moylan is back with me.

Brian Moylan and I have been covering The Real Housewives for well over a decade. I've been

covering them on what was first a blog and then I became a podcaster. And Brian has been covering

it for Vulture and has also written in New York Times bestseller. So we are very deep into the trenches,

studying these personalities,

and I know that so many of you do as well.

I have always thought the smartest people watch reality television

because it is a study of human behavior.

And if you were to think about it,

the Real Housewives, and specifically, as we will note in this episode,

the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, is almost like a cultural laboratory. We are watching not just

a group of women, but it's almost like a constellation of personalities that are constantly

rearranging. And I've thought about it, and I think the sequence can best be described

as this. They form alliances, they fracture them, they rebuild them, and then they question whether

or not they ever existed in the first place. And it's like rinse and repeat. And it makes it

interesting because even though the sequence may be the same, all of the personalities change.
