specializing in anxiety, who has been counseling children, teens, and families for 20 years.

She is the author of the children's book, Surfing the Worry Imps Wave, a comprehensive

anxiety management resource for parents and professionals based on cognitive behavioral therapy

engaging children's story. Sharon has a busy private practice in West Vancouver, British Columbia,

Canada, and writes a popular parenting block. So Sharon, I have to ask what inspired your recent

book? Well, I've been working in the area of anxiety for 20 years now.

That's become a specialty area.

And I realize there's not a lot of resources on the market for children between the ages of

five and ten.

And so over that time, I've created my own curriculum, and it's all drawn from evidence-based

strategies from cognitive behavioral therapy.

But I wanted to have something that's fun and keeps young children interested and helps

them to understand all the concepts as well.

So I decided to write this book and found a fabulous illustrator.

And together we just brought the whole curriculum to life as a children's story
