This is the show that talks about bike packing, adventuring, and the cool people who participate.

Today's guest is an extra special one for me. He's a personal hero of mine. His name is Hal Russell.

I think most people are probably familiar with him, but if you're not, let me tell you,

he is currently riding the tour divide as I speak.

He's 70 years old.

He didn't even pick up mountain biking until he was 57.

I'll let that just sink in for a second.

This man is doing what men or women half his age aren't or can't or are not capable of

doing. I mean, he's done more and seen more than I have for sure and probably a lot of people

listening. No offense. If you read anything about him, if you Google him and read an article,

the words living legend are always associated with Hal Russell.

He's known for his tenacity on a bike,

but he's also known for his generosity and his kindness and his loving heart and his huge smile that is always on.

For those reasons, he is a personal hero of mine.

He's a person that I look up to and aspire to be.

I love riding bikes, and I love going out of the wilderness, and I love participating in this

community.

It's a community that I've really grown fond of, and I feel like I belong to, and I want to belong

to it as long as I can.

And I truly believe that if we use these bodies, that they will continue to give us the results

that we put in.
