I didn't grow up in a Christian home, but I grew up with people who were raised in the IKist dating goodbye era where they're like don't ever date until you're ready to marry.

Actually, I think that's bad advice.

I actually think that we need, especially in this world where kids don't even talk to each other in person.

They text, constantly texting. They don't know how to interact with the opposite sex.

So I actually think that dating well and learning to date well,

even in those upper grades of high school, is important.

Because that's what we do around here. Today we're going to take every thought

captive to the obedience of Christ as to our children.

How do we think biblically about our children in our politics, in our parenting, in our culture?

Now all of us would say that we should quote unquote think about the

children in the decisions that we make. But are we actually doing that or

are the adults prioritizing our own needs over the best interest of children.

But at the same time, in an age of gentle parenting, there's some concern that we're giving children too much priority,

and that by caring too much about what they want and need, we're turning them into fragile

little orchids,

uncapable of dealing with the rigorous world
