The internet has changed things. Social media has changed things. But if you grew up with the

internet, if you grew up with social media, how do you know what the change was? If you doomscroll

all day long, if you watch TikTok all day long, if you just look at X posts and you don't leave the house,

let me explain something to you.

You're only seeing part of the game.

And you might not be understanding all of the game.

When I first got started and I wanted to understand trend following, the options

were interesting. Magazine articles, books like the Market Wizards books, the first and the second

one in particular, because both of those books were filled with trend following traders.

And I've said it on this podcast.

I'm lucky that Jack did not name those books trend following. But there was also something in the

90s that was a little bit different than today. And that was the opportunity to go and listen to

trend following traders, to meet them, to find them, to talk to them.

And that's what I did.

Now, you might think to yourself, if I've got no experience, how did you pull that off, Mike?

I pulled it off with a mindset change, a shift in mindset, a strategy. What was that strategy, Mike? I'd read the book,

Unlimited Power by Anthony Robbins. Very motivational. And there was a story in there about

Steven Spielberg, the film director, as a teenager going to the, I think it was the universal lot in L.A.

And at that time, you could just kind of walk onto the lot and watch how people made movies.

Watch how companies made movies.

And Spielberg did this.

And he did this because he wanted to be around the people that were doing what he wanted to do. And Anthony Robbins
