Adam and Eve were deceived, but you consider what they were deceived in, that they wanted

to be like God, that there was a spiritual battle, that Adam and Eve wanted to be more

spiritual, and they strayed from the simplicity that God had placed them inside the garden.

So Satan will bring anything and everything to Oscar's point to try to trip us up,

right?

Scripture refers to him as the Prince of the Power of the Year in John 12.

He's an accuser in Revelation 1210, a temperature in Matthew 4.3 and 1 Thessalonians 3.5, a deceiver

in Genesis 3.

His very name means adversary, or one who opposes another of his titles as the devil,

which means slander, that he doesn't necessarily show up at your house with a box full of drugs

to try to tempt you this way.

He's been studying man for six, 7,000 years, and he's able to know what is going to trip

you up.

So he may not show up with a briefcase full of drugs your way, but it might be just, hey,

let me kind of trip up a little bit here or there, let me take a second glance at that,

let me put my guard down and watch this or laugh at that joke, and everything becomes

a slippery slope.
