I want to talk a little violence today. Not what you expect to hear as the opening to a podcast.

So look, I've been in my fair share of gyms. As a young man, I played a lot of baseball, was a

catcher, things that I've mentioned on this podcast before. I'm not some trained fighter,

Muay Thai, boxing, whatnot. I grew up around a lot of wrestlers

so I can handle myself if I got somebody on the ground. I'm not a small guy. I'm in pretty good

shape. But again, I'm not some regular fighter. After my experience recently, maybe I will end up in some Muay Thai classes. So here's the

setup. I box jump once a week. Me and a female training partner. We've been doing this for

almost three to four years and we do it for reps, often for like 100 reps,

and we'll alternate. I'll do seven reps. She'll do three. I'll do seven up to around 100 reps.

And we are usually jumping at close to a meter, 33 to 36 inches, depending on how you feel that day.

And if anyone is familiar with box jumping, you've got to be careful, so you learn your

ways to protect yourself, so you don't kill yourself.

So we always brace the boxes up against a wall.

The gym that we work out, there's not a lot of space in this kind of crossfit area,

and we have to put the boxes between two boxing heavy bags.

But look, we're usually done in about 20 minutes, so it's no big deal.

Sometimes we have to wait.
