So Richard Dennis, the famed trader, originally profiled in the book The Market Wizards,

was originally featured in a New York Times piece in 1976, something I actually went on eBay

and found a copy of. Fascinating, how this guy knew what to do at such a young age, 25, 26.

And then, of course, he became even more famous in that 1983 time period for starting the

turtle experiment.

Now, perhaps you are millennial, perhaps you are Gen Z.

And you hear something about 1976 or 1983 and you think,

what the fuck, Mike? This has nothing to do with me. This is dated. This is whatever. Not important.

You know, as a Gen X guy, that's probably how I felt about World War II, something so far away that I had no feeling for it, no sense of relevance.

But in the trading world, in the trend following world, there is a timelessness.

And so when you have something that's timeless, it doesn't make a difference what year.

What you're looking for are examples and data that give you the confidence to do something.

And to do something in this case is to be a trend following trader, which is what I help people do for the

last 20 years and books, my podcast, and my courses. So this guy, Richard Dennis, this famed trader,

does this experiment where he teaches students how to trade. And yes, maybe you've heard

little bits and pieces and slight details

here and there. I see the threads on X. They attempt to summarize, for example, my book
