Hello, and welcome to a special All Hallows Eve edition of St. Stories for Kids.

We hope you've been enjoying the encore episodes that give some great info on the Catholic

origins of Halloween.

This year we have four new spooky St. Stories, and we rank them, Spooky, Spookier, and Spookiest.

Each story teaches an important lesson, but they aren't for the faint of heart, consider

yourselves warned.

Today's story comes from the life of St. Romanus of Rouen, a 7th century French bishop,

and is Spookier Er, Er.

Now it's time for our story.

Romanus sat alone in the church.

He had just become the new archbishop of Rouen France, and it looked like it wasn't going

to be easy.

The people of the town had clearly lost their way, falling away from the church and God.

They had basically reverted to paganism.

Romanus shook his head inside.

He wasn't sure how he was going to do it, but if God was calling him to help these people

find their way back, he would try.

The sound of a man screaming shattered the silence, and Romanus ran outside to see what

was happening.

A man in handcuffs, clearly a criminal, was being dragged on the street towards the river.

He was fighting his captors, begging for mercy.

This scene was deeply disturbing to Romanus, and he asked some villagers that had gathered
