Hi, this is Josh Marshall, and this is the Josh Marshall podcast.

We are, you know, it's, I, each time in the last, in the last few months, I feel like I introduced the podcast by talking

about how weird it is that we're doing a virtual podcast which is probably

getting a little old at this point but you know okay you know give me a

couple me some slack.

But now we're watching this virtual convention.

Democratic convention, you know, at first, Donald Trump was like, oh oh that's a girly man convention you're not going to be able to kind of really be hardcore and show up and kick COVID's ass in person and all that kind of stuff

But soon enough you know at this, what is it? You know, it's either going to be at Gettysburg or the White House and virtual and like the sad sacks and in Charlotte and Jacksonville, you know,

are, you know, trying to rescue their economy since he pulled out of those things.

So anyway, everybody's going virtual basically and you know the

White House is his house so that's virtual same difference just a fancy house and

we're gonna we're not gonna lead with that we're gonna talk

about that a bit later since we've been doing special editions about the

convention but I was just saying on in a post this morning that I actually find it better.

I find it more interesting. I just enjoy it better and some of that is because

you know I've probably watched seven or eight, I don't even, can't

even think exactly how many, seven or eight conventions on the, you know, the old model.

And it's just, you know know you know what it is there's a dais there's there's

the people in the in the arena and it's you know it's a very it's a very choreographed and set thing and to me at least it's it's very

in

it's not just that it's produced.

The thing they're doing now virtually is very produced,
