Convention Recap Extravaganza. I'm joined by Kate Riga and Summer Concepcion. How are you doing?

Good. A little sleepy, hanging in.

Yeah. Yeah, a lot of late nights and one more to go until we catch a little bit of break for the weekend and then we do it all again next week.

So it's been a it's been a busy morning in the virtual TPM newsroom.

We just before we came on to record this convention recap, we saw the news

that Steve Bannon, President Trump's former campaign manager and eventual

chief strategist in the White House was arrested and charged with

conspiracy to commit mail fraud and money laundering I believe. This is part of an

effort to fund a border wall in the US Southern Border.

We build a wall as the organization.

It was kind of a go fund me campaign raised $25 million,

a million of which Steve Bannon allegedly siphoned off for himself through a non-profit

that he controls. Kate or Summer, I mean, what are your kind of quick initial reactions to this news.

Yeah, I have two thoughts, one of which,

this is quite a week for the USPS.

Is there an investigatory arm that nabbed him?

So I don't know if we ever thought we we see the mail in the news to this degree but that and I don't know what a gift to Democrats on the last day of the convention

having one of the biggest players in Trump world go down right before their

grand finale like I'm just betting we're gonna see something inserted someone's

like you know doodling in a line about this in their speech right now.
