Before we get cooking on this episode on a Metaphobia, I need to take a minute or two and do

a little bit of an introduction that I normally wouldn't do, because it kind of matters,

Over the past several days, since recording this episode, I've had the opportunity to

have a really lively discussion on the topic with many of you across multiple social media

channels, and I'm super grateful for that, because I've learned some things, and those

are the things I want to address now before we start to listen to the episode.

The first thing that I want to say is that it is quite clear that this is a topic that

needs more attention.

So for those of you who are suffering with a Metaphobia and have been for quite some

time, let me acknowledge that you are kind of that this pit issue is sort of the red-headed

stepchild of the anxiety community.

You've been suffering a bit in the dark with not a lot of information and not a lot of

attention, and for that I can only apologize.

We need to talk about this more, that is true.

The other thing that I have learned is that there is a fair amount of resistance to the

idea that a Metaphobia is actually treatable or can be overcome.

And I've learned that that resistance is rooted in the deep core level emotional fear of

this particular topic that makes it seem like it's somehow special, unfasible, and insurmountable.
