Welcome to the Rabbi Daniel Lapin show, where I, your rabbi reveal how the world really works. Thank you for being part of the show, and thank you for remembering that to be a happy warrior is a noble cause. There is real value in it. And I always point out that this is not

0:59.3

just a phrase that I made up, but that the term happy warrior was as far as I know originally

1:09.3

coined by the English poet William Wordsworth. And I tell you this from

1:16.6

time to time, but there's a reason why I mention it. Wordsworth wrote the poem in 1806. That's quite a while ago. And why did he do it? Well, it turned out that the Battle of Trafalgar

2:56.6

And so Napoleon decided that he had to do that.

3:02.6

And he had his fleet that had been somewhat bottled up in some of the ports along the

3:09.2

channel coast, they finally ventured out, and Nelson sallied out to meet them.

3:18.4

And through brilliant planning and effective execution, he ended up sinking, I think, 22 vessels of the Spanish-French

3:28.9

Alliance, losing none of his own. It was an overwhelming victory, and it forever destroyed

3:37.6

Napoleon's hopes of achieving dominance on the sea.

3:42.8

And what it really did was it really established the Royal Navy as the dominant force on the
