Summary

So many of us compare on a daily basis - and while things are not what they seem - we still believe our own thoughts sometimes. In today's episode 130 we explore what a world beyond social media is like - and how people online or "influencers" are not important at all. They are not better than you - and they certainly don't hold the answers to life's most profound and deep questions. So why are you so attached to them and comparing? Well- today is your chance to let go - and realize how you can begin your own life at any moment and stop putting a high importance on something so petty - it will only lead to your own disappointment. The answer lies in going inward doing the work, unfollowing, rewiring what is important to you - and stop putting so much importance on petty ppl. You won't look back in 5, 10 or 20 years and regret this change -- trust me -- So stop looking around - and start doing things offline, for you that make you feel so good inside! Lenses//Phones down! Ask yourself - would you really trade lives with them? I think not. xx With love and thank you for listening xx ck

leave immediately and then i'm also just humbled by

their grace and their excellent parenting, which is also quite annoying. But at the same time,

0:46.6

it is nice to feel like a kid again sometimes. Life is really interesting. There have been a lot of

questions I've had over the last few weeks.

0:56.4

Um, one that stood out that I had read was about a young girl asking about comparison.

1:03.8

This is a really good topic for today because I, I go through this too and people probably do not think that women in my caliber or my line

of work in front of the camera, in journalism, or even modeling or TV hosting.

1:21.6

I think the assumption is that we have a great life and that we don't have any sadness or pain or sorrow or anxiety

1:31.8

comparisons or deep depression, etc. But the truth of the matter is not everybody has to expose

1:41.7

their personal health issues or mental wellness or health issues with the public.

1:48.2

So you're never actually going to know what battle somebody is fighting.

1:53.9

Second to this point of comparing your life, say you are looking at somebody who's, you know, going to the Hamptons every weekend,

2:02.3

or they have a house there and they go there every summer.

2:05.1

I learned this very early on when I was Cynthia Sestito's sous chef,

2:11.1

and we used to cook for the stereo boys and a couple other celebs out in the Hamptons.

2:16.6

And also in the Hollywood Hills and in Malibu, like on the waterfront and up on the hills.

2:23.4

These are all places where I could have and probably did at some point compare my life to theirs.

2:31.6

There will always be somebody richer and smarter and thinner and more fabulous than

2:38.1

you. It doesn't mean much. It doesn't help to tell women this kind of advice, but it will help
