You know, one of the least American things about Christianity is that your life is not yours.

The God has saved you not for your own pleasures, but for his glory, and even more particularly,

or for in particular, the church in our spiritual gifts are given to us so that we can serve

others, specifically others in the church, which is very different because people often

talk about like, well, I go to church to get my batteries recharged, and that's it.

You're not meant to be a passive participant at the church. You're meant to be an active participant

at the church. I heard somebody once say, there are no unemployed Christians. What he meant by

that is like, everybody has a role to play in the context of the local church. And I think,

kind of to your point, Mark, I think so many people's faith in sanctifying process, enjoy in the

Lord, stumbles, and come to a stop because they don't begin to exercise their spiritual gifts. I

think so often we start to learn about God, our user heads. We start to love the things of God,

user hearts, but then when it comes to action to doing God's will in the church, specifically,

we like to stop short.

You remember that, right? That was one of the highlights of our television program. We got in

the studio, put in a little smoke machine, made it dark, and actually in this very room,

this very room before we converted it. And you were the Mafia boss.
