podcast. Before we continue my first ever journey through the Harry Potter series, just a few

quick announcements. First, let's just address that yes, J.K. Rowling was back on her bullshit again.

She posted this explanation behind her anti-trans comments, and it wasn't great,

and I have talked about this on social media a decent amount about why it isn't great, and why

I think she is in the wrong, and I retweeted a really solid thread that went point by point as to

why certain aspects of her statement were harmful or misleading or just straight up incorrect. Basically, even if she doesn't mean to do so, her words and the things that she is putting out there into the open are needlessly putting down the trans and non-binary communities. And that's not what the Harry Potter community is about. I will not stand for this. I will continue to call her out. And if she shows the capacity to learn and to want to learn, we can welcome her back in with open arms. But the fact that she posted a statement that didn't allow for comments and never apologized for anything that she did or admitted any sort of fault makes me think she's not really willing to do so. So I'll wait until she wants to learn, but until then, we just don't need her, and we don't have to worry about her, and we instead should focus on putting positive things into this community and into the world. So speaking of that, I've put something together for the potterless community that I think can enact a lot of good into the world and have a lot of fun while we do so, and that is the Potterless donation duels. We'll be doing a couple weekly donation challenges where there will be one charity that we donate to,

and for every dollar that you donate, that is one vote for a head-to-head duel. The first one, of course, is put out a reversed illuminator, and the charity we'll be supporting is the Marsha P.
