Hello, and welcome back to Young Heretics.

This is a particularly exciting show because you guys have been asking a lot when we're going to do music.

Right? It's been a very literary podcast so far.

I tend to love poetry and literature, a lot of my guests, so be historians and things of that nature.

But this is, in fact, a show about the riches of the West.

More generally, it's about everything that the West has to offer.

And a centrally important part of that is the musical tradition of the West.

Going right back to the ancient Greeks and the ancient Jewish tradition of music,

which we may get into talking about a little bit on this episode.

But the truth of the matter is that I just don't know enough to be going into modern Western music in great detail,

which is why we have another honorary heretic here, a guest.

Stephen Limbaugh, who is an extremely accomplished classical composer.

You've done scores for all sorts of films, especially political documentaries.

If you've probably, people have heard your music without even knowing,

because they'll watch some conservative political documentaries and something like that.
