I decided to have Scott on because of a post,

somebody brought to my attention, on a sort of libertarian Facebook page, and it was about the situation in Afghanistan, and it was contesting the claim that the U.S. has not done a good job there or that the U.S. is somehow the bad guy there.

To the contrary, conditions have improved considerably, and the population seems reasonably

satisfied with the U.S., according to polling data, and according just to some statistics about

the wealth in the country and the state of people's standard of living, let's say,

and life expectancy and so forth.

So I thought, well, who better to talk to you about that than Scott Horton, who is the author
