Hello everybody and welcome back to the Bikes for Death podcast. As always, my name is Patrick and I'm your host.

And on today's episode, Shane Hits joins me all the way from Wisconsin. And we are going to be talking all things,

gravel riding and bike packing in Wisconsin today. Shane is the guy in Wisconsin. If you want to go to Wisconsin and ride your bike,

you probably want to hit up Shane and ask him for some route ideas. Actually, there's a lot of

great people in Wisconsin. We know that. But Shane was nice enough to join me on the podcast today.

We're going to be talking about Wisconsin. We're going to be talking about

some routes that he has made, the Tour de Nicolet, which is a great bikepacking route,

and he has a new waterfall bikepacking route that's coming out. And he is also the race director

for the red granite grinder. That's a race that's put on by Iron Bowl. I am going to be there this year,

so I was excited to learn more about Wisconsin, learn more about the race, and we are going to be

talking more about all of that in today's episode. But real quick, if you want to meet me there

and come stay high and stretch your legs at the red granite grinder. You can find registration details

in the show notes. The race is on October 15th in Wausau, Wisconsin, and they have routes,

starting with a 12 mile, a 50 mile, 85, and the 144 mile option. What makes these routes cool is that

Shane has put in a lot of work getting access to private land that you cannot ride

any other time unless you come and do this race. So anyway, we will be talking about that more on

today's episode. Before we get into it, let me tell you about another event that's coming up. This

one is by Bikes for Death. It's called the Bikes for Death Takeover. And this is the first time we've done it.

And we're going to be taking over Mulberry Gap in Elegie, Georgia.

This November 10th through the 13th, you do not want to miss it.
