Hello, friends, and welcome back to the Bikes for Death podcast.

As always, my name is Patrick, and I'm your host.

And on today's episode, Nick Marzano is back.

And this time, he has joined the ranks as an official Tourdivide finisher with a time of 20 days,

nine hours, and one minute, which was good enough to secure 22nd place

at the 2022 Tour Divide.

Now, if the name Nick Marzano rings a bell, that's because Nick was just on the podcast

on episode 119.

At that time, he was actually in the middle of racing the

Tour de Bide. I caught up with him at Mile 1,250 in Pinedale, Wyoming, which is about

halfway through the Tour Divide. And at that point, he was in 24th place he was struggling with some achilles

problems he had gotten stuck in the snow and the mud and all of the things and so on this episode

we are going to catch back up with nick after finishing he's been home for about two now. He's had some time to eat all of the

food and sleep all of the sleep and get caught up with work and all the things and and maybe even

process some of what he just accomplished. A really unique thing about Nick's story is one,

I think it is important that we also highlight mid-pack racers and even back of the pack racers and front of the pack, everybody.

And so maybe it's a little unusual to highlight the 22nd place finisher of the Tour Divide.

I think his story and his journey is

important. I think it's relevant and will resonate with a large majority of you. What's interesting

about Nick is that he didn't even get into cycling until 2020 during the pandemic. And less than two years later, he has gone from getting

into cycling to signing up for what is arguably the world's toughest bike endurance race,

the tour divide, and not just signing up, but absolutely crushing it.
