I wanted to record this short intro today.

I was lucky to catch up with a friend of mine,

Clay Hayes, who was, is recording from his family place down in North Florida outside of, in the panhandle there in the Piney Woods, the swampsamps and Clay if you hadn't heard of him well primarily risk

recently he won the Sierra season 8 of the alone competition on Chilco Lake and British Columbia

surviving for 74 days with a bare minimum of stuff, a sleeping bag, a pot and axe, a saw, a multi tool, bow and arrows,

a fishing line with hooks, sinner wire, and ferro rods.

He was the winner of that competition,

and since then he's been shaken out

and back to what he does with his family

between Idaho and Florida.

And if you go back to Twisted Stave Media, which is Clay's

Company, I was first introduced his work through a film called Untained, which remains one of the more beautiful

Tradbow hunting films that I've ever seen.

Again, it's Twisted Stave Media. He has a YouTube channel with about 172,000 followers

last time I checked. And he has done long association with BHA, he did backcountry college, which is a series of videos of just practical backcountry skills.

He's one of the best bow makers in the United States working today and he builds a lot of them and he teaches people how to build them.

So this is a kind of a trad bow extraordinary really and I feel so lucky to have him on here.

I'm honored to be able to interview him and we'll talk quite a bit about what it took to spend 74 days in a place that

had very little fishing game and just bare-bones survival.
