I think for all of us one of the more challenging areas is when you're not on the same page when you don't agree about the same thing and this leads to

to suggestion that I've heard before that I think is incredibly powerful which is you do not yet understand the other person

until you can articulate their position in such a way where they totally agree with you.

And that is applied to a conversation that you're having on the street with someone who has a different belief system.

That applies to your spouse, that applies to a friend who you're in conflict with.
