I think for all of us one of the more challenging areas is when you're not on the same page when you don't agree about the same thing and this leads to

to suggestion that I've heard before that I think is incredibly powerful which is you do not yet understand the other person

until you can articulate their position in such a way where they totally agree with you.

And that is applied to a conversation that you're having on the street with someone who has a different belief system.

That applies to your spouse, that applies to a friend who you're in conflict with.

If you were to say, can you repeat back to me what I'm trying to tell you, what I believe, my position on this?

And if you cannot articulate their position in a way where they go, I couldn't have said it better myself,

then you have not yet come to understand their position well.

And if you don't know their position then you can't communicate.

There's a communication breakdown if you don't know their position well.

Perspective is everything.

Adults can sometimes pull some very vexing pranks on innocent, humble, lowly, unsuspecting children.
