Today is a special show.

I've got a man here who was a dedicated father and found that taking young people, teens especially into the woods, into having great adventures,

was just an amazing thing to do. He helped to found an organization they called The Wanderers.

And he is an artist, lives in Cape Cod, has been a teacher, a rehab counselor, has four kids of his own, and we're

going to talk about the transformational impact that adventure can have for teens. So David

Kahari and welcome to the program. Thank you. Love to be here. It's great. We were talking

before I hit record and I finally said, this is getting

too good. We have to record because we need to get this into the show. But I think David and I have a

very common heart when it comes to the way that adventure and especially nature can impact young

people for the better. And it's something that we both did with our families. And so it's

going to be fun to talk about this. So David, give us a little bit of the backstory. You and some

other parents started The Wanderers. And what was that all about? Yeah. So my son and a couple of the other boys, his friends, we were all in

scouting. And we had a parting of the ways with the scouting community at some point. And I just

really wanted to keep doing stuff with my kids. And I have daughters as well. and the other dads also wanted to do some things

so we kind of got together and decided to start our own kind of outdoor adventure group with

some of the other scouts and some of their siblings of our sons and so we we came up with the name of the Wonders.

And our basic goal was when we started, it's like, it would be great if we could do,

you know, three, four trips over the summer or something like that.

And that would be a success in some ways.

And eight years later, we were sort of wrapping it up only just because they were going
