This episode is a bit of a break from our regular programming.

What you're about to listen to is a talk that I gave for Seattle atheists, titled

By His Own Hand, The Best Worst Mormon Scripture.

What we do is go through four scriptures

from Joseph Smith, and then we end up polling the crowd to see which they think is indeed

the best worst Mormon scripture. It's a bit of a long one. The presentation itself ran an hour,

and there was another 45 minutes of Q&A after that. But I'm choosing to air this all in one

episode in order to keep the context intact. So a couple of points before we get into the audio

of that presentation. It wasn't a typical lecture style presentation. It was a very intimate

setting and I feel that a few questions as a presentation went along. Those questions aren't miced,

and I have to offer my sincerest apologies for that fact because it makes for terrible audio.

Now, I tried to boost the audio for some of the questions during the presentation, but most of them

are simply too quiet to hear. And based on the answers alone, you should be able to understand the

focus and the central point of the questions, even if you can't hear the questions themselves.

So I've cut out most of the empty silence because it just makes it more listenable. But once the

presentation gets into the Q&A portion, most of those questions are miced, but some of them
