Kind of a classic archipelago, like what you might find in British Columbia or southeast Alaska or even Norway.

So it's glacially carved and there's a lot of inlets and tons of islands.

The coastline of Maine itself is about 4,000 miles long.

Hi friends. Thank you again for joining the Adventure Sports podcast today. I have Austin Addis with us,

and Austin wanted to come on the show to tell us about the main island trail. And when I first

heard that, I'll admit, I had no idea what it was.

When I first heard that, I thought, oh, it's a backpacking trail or a hiking trail or something,

but it is not. It is a water trail that winds through over 200 islands, 375 miles along the coast

of Maine.

And so the idea behind that trail is that it's a waterway you can travel in sea kayaks

or sailboats or even power boats.

And I am super excited to hear more about it.

I had no idea it even existed.
