Summary

Introducing my right hand woman Nicola.

Most of you already know her but I am sure you will learn a lot about her background and what makes her a) such an amazing human and b) such a brilliant and caring coach.

I am also VERY excited to say that she will be coaching on commit to 6.

We talk a lot about chronic pain. Our experiences and how there is a light at the end of the tunnel!

I really hope you enjoy this one.

Please share and tag us if you’ve found it useful or you have thoughts :)

Hello and welcome to this very special episode of the ESG Fitness podcast.

I'm about to introduce you to the guests I have on today, although she does not feel like a

0:12.2

guest because it also feels extremely weird introducing her given that everyone already

0:18.1

knows her, but what you probably don't know is a lot of the stuff we're going to talk about today and her background and the fact that she is now joining us as a coach.

0:29.9

So without further ado, it's Nicola. It's my right hand woman. How are you?

0:36.7

I'm very, very good. Thank you. Very honored to be on the podcast.

0:41.4

Oh, it's strange that you've not been on before.

0:44.7

I know. It's like, oh, we'll see how well I get on.

0:48.9

But anyone who listens to the podcast and is not a client, they might not know you.

0:55.6

No, they wouldn't actually.

1:01.5

They would be behind the scenes. She's behind the scenes. So really, I wanted to bring her on to talk about her journey, which, as I said, I don't think many of you know. And given my

1:10.3

chronic pain over the last year, I've become like quite interested in this

1:14.9

subject and people who live through chronic pain or illness are absolute heroes and I have so

1:24.3

much empathy and respect for anyone who is struggling at the moment or who has

1:28.2

like been through that and and is now pain free hopefully. And one thing that massively helped

1:34.2

me was stories of people who have come through like, oh, I had I had the same or similar back

1:41.2

issues to you and you know, a couple of years later I'm careful but I'm pain free

1:45.8

like that is actually hugely motivating and knowing that someone has been through that and

1:51.4

Nicola's done exactly that so I want to start with talking about that a little bit yeah sure

1:58.1

so just to put it into context I'm'm 36 now, steaming fully ahead into 37. But when I was 18, I was on my way to university and I had a pretty simple car accident with plash and whatnot. But unfortunately, it triggered fibromyalgia syndrome in me.

2:19.8

If anybody doesn't know what fibromyalgia is, it's a chronic pain condition,

2:25.4

also affects your ability to think, you're in a massive amount of pain every day,
