version of the Josh Marshall Podcast. I don't know how much it's going to seem that way for listeners, but this is our first remote

version of the podcast.

My colleagues David and Kate and I are doing this remotely.

We're actually doing it with Zoom, which you might know is the sort of,

I guess, you know, soon to become very well known,

you know,

video conferencing.

I saw ads for it at LaGuardia Airport

over the weekend and I know their stocks are doing well,

so good for all.

The only stock that's doing well right now.

Yeah, well I mean I'm almost wondering I don't know exactly how

distributed their system is but I was because just this morning I was talking to my wife about basically some older relatives that

might be helped by using Zoom just to stay in contact with people, right?

Because, you know, as I think everybody is hearing, for people who are elderly, you should stay in place, right?

You know, don't, don't circulate. And I think as we know, and this is especially

for older people who may not, you know know get around a lot anyway

loneliness and isolation is an issue right this is this is human nature and so I so I was sort of wondering whether, and again, this sort of has to do with how distributed their setup.

And I suspect it must be distributed to a significant degree and for those kind of

who weren't familiar with this kind of stuff the question is you know to all Zoom stuff go through

one kind of central Zoom server in which case it can
