Okay, welcome, ladies and gentlemen to the We're Having a Good Time podcast. My name is Dusty Slay. I'm your host, and I'm pumped to be here.

It's a little later on Thursday. I had a corporate gig midweek.

So it really messed up my week a little bit.

We record Nate Land on Mondays.

And after the podcast, I jumped over to Zanies real quick, and I did a little spot on New Material

Monday, which is a hot spot. If you live here in Nashville or around or you don't know about that,

every Monday at Zanies, we do what's called New Material Monday. So a lot of comics will come out.

It's fairly cheap to see. It's mostly new

comics. Uh, you know, not all good. Not all bad either. Not all good, but a lot of out of town

comics will come. Uh, and also a lot of, uh, you know, of the better comics in town will do the

show. You'll have drop-ins. You know, Nate will drop in

some Greg Warren, John Christ, me, Brian Bates, Aaron Weber. There's lots of good comics in Nashville.

Nashville has a great comedy scene. But as with every comedy scene, not everybody is good. So if you,

if you take a chance on a showcase, you're going to see some comedy

you don't like. But you'll see some stuff that is good that'll surprise you, people you didn't

know. I think that's a big mistake that people make. And it's a, because it's a gamble,

but that they make the stake that only famous comics are good.

So when you go out and you'll sometimes you see a headliner

and then the guy that opens for the headliner is really good,

you're like, whoa, that guy was really good.

And it surprises people because there's a lot of good comics that aren't famous.
