And you might say, wait a minute, do I need to have tailoring black style explained to me?

I learned tons, honestly, today.

Much more than on a normal newsday when we're talking about tax policy, which is stuff I probably

read 10,000 times.

I had no idea what black dandyism was until today.

So there you go.

Let me tell you what it is.

The 2025 Spring Expedition is entitled Super Fine, Tailoring Black Style,

and the accompanying dress was called Tailored for You.

A 2025 theme explored black style and the history of dandyism. The exhibition was

inspired by some book, Slaves of Fashion, Black Dandism, and the styling of black diasporic

identity. I don't think there's actually any words that make sense in the English language there,

but they, of course, have to explain it to you. Post-Emancipation, Black Americans had a chance to reclaim their

autonomy, paved in the way for the Harlem Renaissance. From the 20s to 30s, neighborhood became a hub

for Black cultural expression. The Renaissance was a time of living and dressing boldly for Black
