Well, this is a really fun episode

because today we are celebrating the second birthday

of the podcast.

Happy birthday recovery, happy hour, you were born on Jalal. birthday Recovery Happy

Happy Hour. You were born on July 2nd 2018.

I was a little over a year and a half sober when I started the show

and I had launched with four episodes on deck and I was really

excited when I received 500 downloads in my first week and seven reviews on iTunes.

I created an Instagram page that had about 200 followers and I was pumped.

Today we've got a hundred and one episodes.

I just crossed over the half million mark in downloads and June alone had almost 60,000 downloads in one month.

There are now over 500 reviews on Apple Podcasts and over 15,000 followers on Instagram.

I hosted a sober music event at South by Southwest,

a weekend recovery retreat last January

where 30 strangers flew in from all over the country, and I'm creeping up on four years sober

later this fall. It has been a wild ride and that being said the

responsibility of the podcast has also been a lot of work.

These numbers don't happen overnight.
