And another great day in this greatest nation on God's Green Earth, a great day after a very busy week with news. A part of the great relief this week is, okay, there was an earthquake, 7.0 on the Richter's scale earthquake off the shores of California.

And there was not a tsunami.

I mean, I remember yesterday people were waiting with a tsunami warning and clearing out schools.

Today, the only tsunami, the only wave is one that is being battled by Pete Hegset.

Some people think he is doing that job of battling the wave of criticism of his appointment as the new Secretary of Defense and doing it nobly and proudly.

Then there are other people who believe that basically his entire nomination is a real problem.

One of the questions that I'm going to address today during the course of the day, and we have a number of terrific guests to actually go into that,

including Paul Kengor of the Institute for Faith and Family

at Grove City College. What is it about President Trump this time that makes it so different

in terms of his selections for cabinet-level posts.

The first time when President Trump was elected president in 2016, when he beat Hillary Clinton,

he came forward with cabinet appointments that were not controversial.

And this time, there are at least five major cabinet appointments that are very controversial,

and that may in fact be hard to confirm, including Pete Heggseth, the nominee for Secretary of Defense.
