But if we're going to hold on to the title of Greatest Nation on God's Green Earth,

then we're going to have to get through the next 48 hours, say,

and do so without some kind of outbreak of violence or civil war or craziness that a lot of people

are expecting because tomorrow is election day. Seventy-six million, 438,8,831 American citizens have

already voted.

Amazing.

And PBS is reporting that on the eve of the 2024 presidential election,

Kamla Harris, the vice president, holds a four-point lead

over former President Donald Trump among likely voters nationally. Now, of course,

the election will be decided, not nationally. It will be decided by the swing states, all seven of

them. But there's also all kinds of new polling data from the swing states that show some momentum

in the direction of Kamala Harris. We will get to the various polls. But first off, when you talk about

momentum, there's a lengthy piece in the Washington Post and the

headline is drones and snipers part of election plans what drones and snipers are

you kidding me the piece by Hannah Alam and Amy Gardner in The Washington Post says,

eager to reassure nervous Americans that their votes will be protected.

Authorities are touting unprecedented security plans designed to withstand violence

and other nightmare scenarios on Election Day tomorrow and in a potentially uncertain aftermath.

Throughout the country, local officials are taking elaborate measures to fortify election-related

sites, including plans for snipers on a rooftop to protect a key vote counting headquarters,
