And another great day in this greatest nation on God's Green Earth. A great day as the United States seems to be moving on after the shock and the horror of an attempted

assassination of Donald J. Trump that occurred on Saturday night. Unbelievable, today is only Sunday

morning and now all of a sudden our attention is focused on another subject entirely,

which is the designated running mate for President Trump,

the guy who would take charge if anything happens to him after he is elected,

if he is elected,

J.D. Vance, the senator from Ohio,

nominated for president of the United States.

During the break, I checked it.

I was correct, and I'm proud to say,

that he would be the second youngest vice president ever elected, the youngest being John

Cabell Breckenridge, who was a Kentuckian and was elected to serve with James Buchanan.

And he served out his term.

He ran for president in 1860, was one of four candidates. The winning candidate was a guy named Lincoln. And John C. Breckenridge, who was in favor of secession and lived in Kentucky, represented Kentucky in the Senate and the House,

as a supporter, defender of the institution of slavery.

In any event, he was elected vice president when he was 36,

and we have not to compare J.D. Vance to Breckenridge, but he is 39, which makes him

the youngest. Theodore Roosevelt, when he ran for vice president, was 41. And he became president shortly thereafter because the

assassination of William McKinley. So Roosevelt actually was 41 when he became president, which

makes him younger than Obama, younger than John Kennedy, who was 43.

In any event, all of this is interesting because it is a part of what is going to happen as people get to know J.D. Vance, who is in so many ways a surprising choice for Donald Trump because there is a big contrast.
